Turn Windows 7/8 PC Into Wi-Fi Hotspot Zone For Internet Sharing
We often want to share the internet connection from one Laptop to another.Laptop with high speed internet connection can be use to start a Wi-Fi Hotspot sing Wireless Hosted Network technology which allows other Wi-Fi devices within range of 30 feet (Depends on device-device).Windows 7 use to support in-build Wi-Fi sharing tool called “Ad hoc” , but the this feature has been opt out from Windows 8.One need to use third party tool(Virtual Router Plus,MyPublicWifi etc) to create a Wi-Fi zone.Steps :
1. First thing first,make sure your Host laptop (the one with internet connection) has updated WI-Fi drivers installed.If not,install proper drivers first.
2. Download and install Virtual Router Plus.Google it or download from here (Mirror).
3. After a successful installation open the tool.If required open with “Run As Administration”.
If everything goes right,a dialog box like above will open.
4. Provide the asked details in the box.
Network Name (SSID) : The Name of your Wi-Fi Hotspot.You can assign any name.
Password : You need to create a 8 letter password of any combination.Only Wi-Fi devices with this password can access your internet connection.
Shared Connection : Select the connection name you want to share i.e name of the active host computer internet connection.
5. Click on “Start Virtual Router Plus”.This will immediately start a hotspot and the other devices are ready to connect with your hotspot.
From the Parasite Device (the one which want to access internet connection from host PC) ,Start Wi-Fi and search for available networks and connect with the hotspot by entering password.
