Access Blocked/Restricted Sites Using Google DNS
Due to increasing restrictions on internet,it seems open Internet will remain dream only.More and more countries nowadays are focusing on internet censorship and blocking of some of the great sites.Like last year ,Indian Government Blocked Many File Sharing and Pay Per Click Ads sites Including Uploaded.net and ADF.ly.There are many Paid tools available in market to create private VPN and access those sites but usually they charge quite high or bug you with lots of ads compromising your connection speed.What is Google DNS?
Google Public DNS is a free, global Domain Name System (DNS) resolution service, that you can use as an alternative to your current DNS provider.It functions as a recursive name server providing domain name resolution for any host on the Internet.Google Public DNS is the largest public DNS service in the world, handling more than 130 billion requests per day.
Steps To Set up Google DNS :
1. Open Network And Sharing Center and click on Change Adapter Setting.
2. Right click on the Adapter connection Name whose DNS you want to change (i.e the Network which you use to access internet) and open its Properties.
3. Now Open The Sequence of Options.
Properties —> Networking ---> Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) ---> Properties ---> General ---> Advanced ---> DNS
4. Click on “Add…” and enter DNS Server as “8.8.8.8” And Add.Now Click on “Ok” of all open dialog box and close them.
Tips And Warnings :
- You can use 8.8.4.4 as DNS also.
- Always keep Backup of your original DNS in case you need it in future.
- Some countries like turkey even blocked Google DNS.
- Google Public DNS can be used on other version of windows also.Follow the same procedure.
